The future is built on wood. With a raw material that originates from responsibly managed forests, we create refined climate-smart products and solutions for construction, housing, pulp and paper manufacture and energy production.

We thereby help our customers do better business in a global marketplace and are part of the solution in the transition to a bioeconomy.

Sawn Wood Products

Sawn pine and spruce are important export products. Pine is used primarily to produce visible wood products like flooring, furniture, windows and doors. Other uses for pine outdoors include a variety of pressure-treated products. Spruce handles high strength requirements and is often used as structural timber.

Processed Wood Products

Our processed products are used for building and construction both in Sweden and globally.

CLT - Cross-Laminated Timber
Tailor-made and fully customised CLT range to the construction industry, for delivery in Sweden and for export.

Glulam
Setra’s glulam is supplied to builders’ merchants, wood product manufacturers and building contractors, primarily in Sweden and Japan.

Construction timber
Range of planed timber, graded for load-bearing structures in Europe, the USA and Australia.

Components
Finger-jointed components of high quality and precision for window and door manufacturing.

Bioproducts

Every log that Setra processes must give as high a saw yield as possible. It is important both from a resource perspective and an economic perspective. About 50 percent become planks and boards and 50 percent become bioproducts in the form of bark, chips and shavings.

Bioproducts are used as cellulose chips for the pulp and paper industry, and pellets and biofuels for cogeneration plants.

Pyrolysis Oil

Pyrocell – a company jointly owned by Setra and Preem – provides an important link in the value chain for renewable fuel. Setra has the raw material, sawdust, while Preem has refineries and filling stations.

The sawdust is processed into bio-oil at Pyrocell’s pyrolysis plant, which lays alongside Setra’s Kastet sawmill in Gävle, ready for further processing at Preem’s refinery in Lysekil.

It is a complete value chain from forest to renewable fuel.
