CLT is cross-laminated timber
CLT stands for cross-laminated timber, a renewable and strong building material suitable for structures that demand high load-bearing capacity and strength, while also being fire-resistant and relatively light.
CLT is glued together from planed timber that has been finger-jointed and then laid crosswise in layers to form a solid CLT panel. CLT has many sustainability advantages over other materials such as concrete and steel. Setra produces CLT with flexible width dimensions, minimising waste and making the process more sustainable.
The largest panels are 3.5 x 20 metres, and they are then machined into smaller elements. Modern CNC technology produces precision cut components that fit together perfectly.
