About Pine
Setra has a long experience of working with integrated sawing and processing. Competence and a flexible production allows us to deliver customized solutions that meet customer demands for specific dimensions and qualities.
From Sawing to the Finished Product
The pine is sorted in several grades and dried to different moisture levels based on customer needs. Pine is ideal for products where the requirements for consistency and quality is high.
Pine is used primarily to produce visible wood products such as floors, windows and doors. A large part of Setra's redwood is produced for the furniture industry in the form of specially dried products. Other important customers include various wood industries that require components and planing mills that further process the sawn pine into architraves, panels, flooring and impregnated products.
The pine’s high heart wood content and special knot structure are features that are particularly appreciated by the window and door industries. The heart wood is rich in natural impregnation substances which give the final products great weathering resistance.
The largest and most important market areas are Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. In terms of volume, about 30 percent of the sawn timber is sold to the Swedish market, including deliveries to further processing units.
