End of period commentary from Setra for Q2 2026

Press release from
Setra Group AB
20th of August 2026

The wood industry company Setra reports an operating profit of SEK 15 million (-60) for the second quarter of 2026. Net sales amounted to SEK 1,579 million (1,442).

The result for the second quarter represents a significant improvement compared with the first quarter of the year and the corresponding period last year. The result reflects falling timber prices and increased internal efficiency, even though the expected price increase for sawn wood products has failed to materialise due to continued uncertainty and weak economic conditions on the global market. The Building Solutions and Components business area is now seeing the results of the production adjustments carried out during 2025 and reports a positive result for the period.

“The market continues to be characterised by uncertain global economic conditions, but we can see that lower timber prices and our work on continuous improvements in operations are having a clear impact on our results. At the same time, we are working to manage the consequences of storm Johannes and to ensure that as much of the storm-felled timber as possible is salvaged and processed into wood products,” says Marcus Westdahl, President and CEO of Setra Group.

On 30 June 2026, the sale of Malå Såg AB to HS Timber Group was completed. The transaction means that Setra can now focus fully on continued development and long-term profitability in the Bergslagen area, in line with the company’s strategic direction.
